lent has been beneficial to the max for my life and heart. the rottenness in my heart is in a sort of reversal. the holy spirit is really forming me in these 40 days. my flesh is starving for 6 days, and on the seventh i feed it.
wikipedia told me that sundays were consider a mini-easter during this season of lent, so within that 24 hour period you can break your fast and indulge in the things you’ve given up all week in celebration of the life of christ. so my weekly routine has been to stay up late on saturday night and at midnight i have a soda ready to drink and a video game ready to play.
i found that after drinking so much water for such a long period of time (six days), soda can really mess you up. i’ve ruined entire meals on sunday because i yearned for soda so much and i didn’t care what price my body had to pay to drink it.
last midnight was different. i didn’t drink coke or pepsi. i drank mountain due. i was jacked for like 4 hours after that and didn’t end up going to bed until early in the morning, and that’s when i got up too. what we want isn’t always what we need, is it? to add to that, i played nazi zombies on call of duty world at war and around 1.30am i was pretty terrified while i was turning all the lights out in the apt. to hit the sack.
